Fall Colors in Marble

One of the most exciting times of year up in Marble are the Aspen Leaves coming in. The recent snow did not discourage them and the colors better than ever.

Goodbye for Now!

Goodbye for Now!

Just a few days left of BBQ season in Marble, CO!   After our Halloween bash, the restaurant will be a quiet place until next spring.  The 2016 season certainly kept our crew busy.  We are always sad to see the end of the season come, but we are already planning lots of exciting things for 2017.  Our hard-working team is growing, if you would like to join the crew, please contact us to learn about employment opportunities.

A big thank you to all who have supported us throughout the season.  See you next year!

Charting New Horizons in Crested Butte

Charting New Horizons in Crested Butte

We catered our first wedding in Crested Butte last week.  To get to Crested Butte from Marble, we took the food truck over the scenic, unpaved Kebler Pass.  Our trusty food truck didn't falter at 10,000 feet!  Descending the pass, the crew had to navigate a bike race coming into town, but arrived at the wedding with plenty of time to spare.  Another great day of work with awesome views, the early season wildflowers and adventure.

More Marble in Marble!

More Marble in Marble!

First thing in the morning, a crane hoists local artist Greg Tonozzi's latest sculpture to its new home.  The stunning piece is balanced on top of a large Marble block.  It is streaked with brilliant green Serpentine, which makes this piece especially remarkable.

Tonozzi is a world class marble sculptor and teaches at the annual Marble, Marble Symposium each summer.  We are proud and grateful to host such a special piece.   Thanks Greg!

New Venue for Music in Marble

New Venue for Music in Marble

Just this week, we finished building a brand new stage for live music at Slow Groovin!  Starting July 1st, we will be featuring local bands twice a week, Tuesday and Friday evenings through September.

The stage overlooks the yard, patio and dining room tables, so that all guests will have a great view of the performers.  Come get your Slow Groove on with us this summer!

Old McDonald comes to Marble

Old McDonald comes to Marble

Look at those ribs!  They are even bigger and better this year.  New at Slow Groovin' BBQ is pork from Old McDonald Farms.  They will be providing all of our pulled pork, ribs, and pork bellies (for making bacon) this year.

Located in Brush on Colorado's Front Range, Old McDonald raises pork naturally, free from hormones or antibiotics.  Old McDonald raises only Heritage breed pigs, which means that their blood lines have a long history in the United States, sometimes hundreds of years. Heritage breeds are prized for their flavor and juiciness.  In order to develop their unique flavor, pigs are given the freedom to roam and feed in open pasture.  They also help to preserve diversity within the gene pool.  By purchasing Heritage breeds, we help protect endangered breeds, promote sustainable agriculture and guarantee the best flavor!
